Prof. Foo Keng Yuen

Biography:
Prof. Dr. Foo Keng Yuen is the UNESCO Co-Chair on Ecohydraulics for Sustainable Water Infrastructures for SDG 6 in the Asia and the Pacific Region. His research interests encompass environmental engineering, waste utilization, water treatment technology, catalysis, food security and toxicology, as well as environmental health. He has been actively involved in various university, national, and international research grants amounting to approximately RM 10 million. His aptitude for conducting high-quality internationally recognized research is further supported by consultancy projects exceeding RM 3 million, over 100 international publications with a total citation count surpassing 17,000 citations and an author h-index of 50. In terms of Intellectual Properties (IP), he holds three patents along with one trade-secret and one trademark registration. Foo’s scholastic achievements and thought leadership are widely acknowledged both locally and internationally. He takes great pride in being recognized as one of the Top 2% Scientists in their Respective Fields as well as one of the Top 2% Highly Cited Scientists worldwide by Stanford University in California consistently over a period of five years. Foo has been nominated as the honoree for the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (ToYM) 2022, Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) 2019, National Young Scientist Award 2017, International Young Inventor Award, Marquis Who's Who in the World, Top 100 Engineers. Additionally, he has received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the International Biographical Centre Cambridge, England and special awards or medals from international inventions competitions and exhibitions. He holds various roles such as Editor, Editorial Board Member, Scientific Adviser, Technical Committee Member and Review Committee Member in prestigious international scientific journals, conferences and research seminars. Furthermore, Foo has been appointed as Chief Consultant for several UNESCO international workshops and is currently serving as a technical consultant for TG Ocean Health Food Industries Limited Company and a research and development (R&D) consultant for Gold Choice Food Industries Limited Company.
Assoc. Prof. Abdul-Sattar Nizami

Biography:
Dr. Abdul-Sattar Nizami holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sustainable Gaseous Biofuel from University College Cork, Ireland. Previously, he conducted research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, focusing on alternative fuels and life cycle studies. Subsequently, he served as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Solid Waste Management Unit at the Center of Excellence in Environmental Studies at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Currently, Dr. Nizami works as an Associate Professor at the Sustainable Development Study Centre at Government College University in Lahore, Pakistan. Throughout his career, Dr. Nizami has made significant contributions to various fields including renewable energy, alternative fuels, waste-to-energy conversion technologies such as catalytic pyrolysis and anaerobic digestion processes for resource recovery purposes. His extensive research output includes over 150 published papers and he has been invited to deliver 46 talks at national and international forums. Furthermore, Dr. Nizami's work has garnered substantial recognition within the scientific community with more than 10 thousand citations in peer-reviewed publications along with an impressive total impact factor exceeding 1100 and an H-index value of 55.
He holds the position of Senior Editor in Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews (Elsevier Impact Factor 16.8), Energy & Environment (Sage Impact Factor 3.15), and Frontiers in Energy Research (IF 4.01). Additionally, he serves as an Editorial Board Member for Bioresource Technology Reports (Elsevier) and Energy Sources Part B (Taylor & Francis IF 3.21). He actively engages in community and consultation services for various international organizations, including the European Commission-based IF@ULB, National Research Agency (NRA) of France, National Science Centre Poland, World Bank, and UNEP. His contributions have earned him a place among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide recognized by Stanford University, USA. Furthermore, his accomplishments have been acknowledged by US Times Higher Education World University Rankings as a Role Model for King Abdulaziz University's No 1 ranking in the Arab World in 2019. Recently, he published a UNEP report titled 'Waste Management Outlook for WEST ASIA 2019: WASTE TOWEALTH'.
Assoc. Prof. Jia Wen

Biography:
Dr. Jia Wen earned her Ph.D. in soil science from the University of Adelaide. She held the position of Environmental Consultant at Arris Pty. Ltd., Australia from 2010 to 2013. Currently, she is an associate professor and Yuelu scholar at Hunan University. Additionally, she serves as a member of the editorial board for SCI journals "Sustainability (IF 3.9)" and "Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (IF 3.1)". Her primary research interests encompass environmental toxicology of heavy metals, soil pollution remediation, solid waste pollution control, and resource recovery. As the first/sole corresponding author, Dr. Jia Wen has published over 40 SCI papers in reputable journals, including four highly cited papers and more than ten papers with an impact factor greater than ten (IF >10). She was honored with the Wiley "IEAM Exceptional Reviewer 2023" award and holds six national patents.
